Heather, une adolescente négligée par ses parents, est envoyée dans un pensionnat retiré au fond des bois. Encadrée par la sinistre Mrs Traverse et son équipe, Heather devient la tête de turc de ses camarades, et ne rêve que d'une chose : retourner chez elle.
